a day late but we can still feast

I know it is Saturday, but it is not like I regularly remember what day of the week it is anyway!

Appetizer
Name something you would categorize as weird.
my way of thinking - somedays.

Soup
What color was the last piece of food you ate?
Brown - it was a chocolate chip brownie.

Salad
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy being alone?
At times, it can rate beyond a 15, especially after a hectic day.

Main Course
Fill in the blank: I will _________ vote for ___________ in _______.
I will definitely vote for this AWESOME candidate in the general election.

Dessert
Describe your sleeping habits.
I usually sleep at night. Although, I love a good nap every now and then.

my daughter, the fashionista

On Sunday, my brother commented on Daria's choice of clothing - it was an orange shirt and red pants. I informed him that this outfit was very mild compared to what she wears to school.
This is what she wore to school today:

Yes, that is a yellow polka dot dress with maroon flower tights and a pink, orange, and red striped shirt.

You have to admit that she pulls it off very well.

kick-ass cookies

Chococonut Chip Cookies have just landed in my permanent cookie rotation. Oh my...they are so delicious and smell sooooo good while baking. The fragrance alone should be bottled and sold.
I made this batch with white chocolate chips and I used bread flour, so they would turn out thicker. The large cookie scoop was used and as you can see, they turned out gigantic and yummy.
Good news: they were a big hit because there is not a cookie left in the house.

Bauer is last man standing

It is official.....
Daria has inherited my vision traits.
Today was her first appointment with our eye doctor (who ROCKS, by the way).
To say the least, the doc earned his cash today with this first time patient.
She was looking all over the place and not putting her forehead forward and her head was following the pointer.
It was great.
I was giggling and having huge mommy guilt pains on the inside.
She was excited about the whole experience and did not understand why she has to wait for her glasses.
The frames she picked are purple with reds and blue stripes. They are very cute.
Although, I do feel so bad for her that she has to begin wearing glasses at such a young age.
I was in 4th grade when I had to get my first pair, and it was devastating for me at the time.
I hated them, and I dreaded going back to school having to wear them.
And seriously, kids were not pleasant regarding new things back then.
Happily, I do not believe Daria is having any of these issues because she has best buddies that wear them.
And she is getting purple glasses like her friend, and she cannot wait to tell her about it tomorrow.
That makes me have a sign of relief for now.
