just a sample

Chocolate chip was just one of many goodies I baked up this holiday season.

It is my recipe, so sorry I cannot share.

As many know, they rock and do not last long.

Oh, let's not forget about the snickerdoodles.

How I love the smell of snickerdoodles baking.

This recipe is not top secret - it comes from the Good Housekeeping Baking book.

I use the big scoop to get that size.

Many other goodies were made too.....

Brownies with Milk Chocolate Macadamia Nuts

Gingersnaps with Milk Chocolate Chips

Chocolate Chip with Almonds

Chocolate and Butterscotch Chip

Peanut Butter Goodies

Butterscotch Rice Krispie Treats

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip with Cinnamon and Peanuts

Do not know why I did not click pics of all of these - no excuse.

Happy Holidays!

this is what it looked like

Just a few days ago, our yard and neighborhood was a blanket of snowy goodness.
See.....

Look at the precious rosemary....

Daria, of course, loved the snow. Unfortunately, the snow did not pack well, so we could not build a snowman. That did not matter - she just loved being out in it.

Now, we are dealing with a slushy mess. The temps are up, and the rain is back. (yeah!) BUT...everything is slushy, icy, and wet. It will be a good day when I wake up and it has all melted away.

snowed in

Literally.
There is almost 6 inches outside, and it is still falling.
Make it stop!!!
It is giving me anxiety.
There are things to do, and I do not want to drive - ANYWHERE.
We have had snow and/or ice since last Sunday.
I am tired of it.
Please bring back the rain and mud.
PLEASE......
I just want to wake up tomorrow morning and see the cement on the road - wet, no ice.
Is that asking for too much??
Hope not.
On the plus side, we do have LOTS of cookies and brownies.

I am not the only one who does like all this snow and ice

Like many others across the country, winter has started early in our neighborhood.
We took Bauer out to experience the snow for the first time.
Well.....

the poor boy was NOT enjoying our time outside.

Unlike his sister.....

who is lovin' every minute of it.

My Christmas wish is 45 degrees and rain. I am done with all this ice and snow. I do not have time for this right now.

almost done

I am almost done with all the shopping.
Almost.
I am tired of thinking about it all.
I will be so thrilled to wake up on the 26th and know I will not have to bake or run to the mall.
10 more days.
I will survive.

not happening

So much for posting daily in December - the days have just gotten away from me.
Daria's birthday party was a success.
I truly dreaded the whole event, and I counted down the minutes til the end.
But the girls had fun, Daria received nice gifts, and everyone went happy.
Her actual birthday was a busy day juggling when each set of grandparents would visit and such.
Believe me I was so happy when the whole event was over.
And yes, it was an event this year.

opps, skipped a day

Should of known when December hit, I would miss a day.
Oh, well....
I have been so freakin' busy, BUT things have been done.
All of Daria's birthday (and some Xmas) gifts are purchased AND wrapped.
The cookie dough for the party is made and in the frig.
We will bake tomorrow.
Bauer has a crappy cold.
I just hope he wakes up tomorrow feeling better because I really do not know how I will squeeze in a doctor appointment tomorrow.
I have been to the mall twice in 2 days.
We visited Santa this morning (no school).
Bauer wanted no part of Santa - maybe next year.
Three loads of laundry has been done in 2 days, and more will be done tomorrow.
Friday is the birthday party, the birthday is Saturday, and I do not know if I will get out of bed on Sunday.

the deal I took

I have been surfing around looking for gifts and ideas.
The best deal that I took advantage of is at Old Navy.
Free shipping and 20% off your order was too good to pass up.
I only purchased 4 items, and only one will be a gift.
BUT, I saved $12.00 dollars on my order.
Good deal.
Thanks, Cyber Monday.
(If you truly exist, the news is saying otherwise these days.)
